Wisdom pt 2

Image
God gives wisdom liberally when we ask of Him. The writer of James says, “If any man lacks wisdom, [to guide him through a decision or circumstance] let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally [freely] and upbraideth not [without rebuke or blame]; and it shall be given him.” ~ James 1:5 KJV Along with wisdom it is our duty to also get understanding – to actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension and logical interpretation that can come to us only through the word of God. Here are 8 things that we all need wisdom for – Wisdom to know and to love God first/foremost and have a relationship with Him (Genesis 1:26-27; Deuteronomy 6:5) Wisdom to discern truth (John 8:32) Wisdom to do God’s will (Romans 12:2) Wisdom is the key that unlocks the vault of God’s treasures (Colossians 2:3) Wisdom to know what to say and when to say it (James 1:5) Wisdom to raise your children and keep them on the right path (Proverbs 22:6) Wisdom to administer justice (2 Ch

Why "Wisdom"?

Knowledge is among the most sought after things in the world today whether through the reading of books, magazines, televisions, social media, experiments among many other avenues. The question thereafter is, how many would exert that same level of energy, time and effort to get Wisdom? Knowledge is good, Yes, but it is more profitable to have wisdom as well. There is a man in the bible by the name Solomon who had to make a very crucial choice to an open ended question asked by God, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you”  2 Chronicles 1:7 (NIV). What if that question is asked to you today? What would you ask God for? Maybe a car, the Sportpesa Jackpot, The biggest hotels around, the most beautiful woman or the most handsome guy? It would be such a hard choice to make. But Solomon asked God for wisdom and knowledge instead of wealth 2 Chronicles 1:8-10. God was so delighted in his choice and on top of wisdom, wealth, positions of honor possessions were added to Solomon. Wisdo

Are you looking for a true friend?

WHO IS A TRUE FRIEND❓ As we start 2018 an year of a fresh start and new beginnings let us begin by examining who a true friend is because friends play a vital role in shaping our lives. And as the saying goes, "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are" Today I want us to talk about the things that makes one an authentic friend. One of the best pictures of friendship depicted in the Bible is that of Jonathan and David. These two gentlemen were FRIENDS. To start with: 1. A true friend is a Christian friend who steers you to the Lord. It is a friend who will always desire to bring you more close to God(1Samuel 23:13-17) "As Iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another" Proverbs 27:17 2. Secondly, a true friend keeps his/her promise of fellowship even in your absence. In 1 Samuel 20:3 we see a promise between David and Jonathan that is fulfilled later after a very long time in 2 Samuel 9:1 when David honoured Mephiboseth the only living

Did You Know?

Happy New Year 2018 2018 is an year of New Beginnings, an year to start afresh. Whatever seemed stagnant and non functional will start thriving. Let us look at Gideon`s story of a new beginning. Gideon: From Hiding to a Hero Gideon was “was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites. The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior” (Judges 6:11-12).  Imagine the angel of the Lord calling Gideon a “valiant warrior.”  This was the same description given to Jonah about the mighty city-state of Nineveh that they had mighty warriors.  Gideon must have looked over his shoulder and said, “who me?” because he answered the angel of the Lord by saying “how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house”(Judges 6:15). God answered Gideon that He would be with Him and if God is with you, who can be against you (Rom 8:31)?  Gideon went from

Letting Go and Letting God – Give it to God, Whatever it is! Let Go and Let God. Let go of fear, worry & doubt. Let go of burdens. Take your worries, cares and burdens to the Throne of God. Put all your burdens in His able hands, and leave them there. Find rest in the peace, love and presence of God, our loving and caring Father Philippians 4:6-7, (NLT)Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

You Need to.........?

Four Fundamental Needs Need to Know ONE of the crying needs of the hour is more knowledge of God's holy word. God's ancient people were destroyed for a lack of knowledge. (Hos. 4:6.) When Jesus was here, he said "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32.) If people knew the truth, we would not have the religious Babel that we have today. Had the truth been taught and adhered to strictly from the days of Christ until now, what a different world this would have been! Christians are commanded to let the word of Christ dwell in them richly. (Col. 3:16.) My dear reader, does that adverb "richly"' describe the way the word of Christ dwells in you? "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Heb. 4:12.

LOVE

Jesus Loves You by Pst Frank Kariuki Today as I was carrying along the day i came across some poem that talks about the Love of Jesus. This love that is unconditional. The love of Christ for us in his dying was as conscious as his suffering was intentional with an aim of redeeming mankind from its fallen nature.  Revelation 1:5 says it all " and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood." Here is the poem: Jesus Loves You by  Cindy Wyatt   The Savior is waiting to enter your heart Once he comes in he will never depart  He has life giving water to quench your thirst And with his love you'll be immersed He came to give you life more abundant and free And that is why he went to the cross of Calvary His shed blood was the perfect sacrifice He has power to forgive sins because he paid the price If
